After signing a memorandum of understanding with SPRING (Standards, Productivity and Innovation Board) in Singapore, Minister Horner welcomed an opportunity to inspire even further cooperation between Asia and Alberta’s smaller and medium-sized businesses.

The Minister was fortunate to have a special champion in the room, Mr. Chong Howe Oon of Pteris Global Limited, who implemented a baggage handling optimization system for the Calgary Airport. Mr. Oon enjoyed doing business with Alberta and encouraged other Asian companies to show interest in collaborating with Alberta in areas of environmental technology and biotechnology.

During the signing, both Minister Horner and SPRING officials expressed excitement about opening up new opportunities for Alberta and Signapore, a world-leader in technology, trade, commerce and investment.
